Mike Rowney has over 30 years of business experience, with the last 20 years devoted to formulating and implementing strategies to achieve world-class competitiveness, first as an internal change agent and then as an external consultant. He played a key change agent role at Omark Industries, where he coordinated the planning and implementation of one of North America’s first full scale efforts in Lean Manufacturing, Total Quality Management, and Employee Involvement under the leadership of the President, Jack Warne. As a result, he was recruited to perform a similar role for the largest division of the Weyerhaeuser Paper Company. In preparation for his consulting career, Mike gained broad management experience in primary materials and manufacturing industries, holding managerial positions in production, R&D, strategic planning, marketing, and new business development. He holds a BSc (Hons) degree from the University of Birmingham (UK), a Master’s from the University of Toronto, and a Ph.D. in Metallurgical Engineering from Illinois Institute of Technology. He speaks German and French, and has consulted and taught in those languages. He has been trained as a Lead Assessor for ISO 9000. At The Deltapoint Corporation, Mike consulted for eight years in the planning and implementation of strategies for world-class competitiveness to Alberta Power, Boeing, numerous Boeing suppliers both in North America and Europe, Vitro (Mexico), SmithKline Beecham (UK and USA), Burlington Northern Railroad, Nabisco, Public Service Company of North Carolina, Britax Rumbold (UK), and Fairchild Fasteners. Much of his recent work has been focused on helping companies bring about rapid change successfully. Prior to joining Deltapoint in 1992, Mike spent two years as a senior consultant in TQM with Luftig and Warren, a leading quality consultant specializing in statistical methods. He provided guidance in the implementation of principles and practices to improve competitiveness for major units of Fortune 500 companies, such as Alcoa, Anheuser Busch and Chiquita, both in the U.S. and Europe. Mike currently has his own consulting practice, and also collaborates with several other skilled and experienced independent consultants to provide clients with support in virtually every aspect of business competitiveness and organizational excellence. Larry Godt has 16 years of business experience, with the last four years devoted to helping companies achieve improved performance as a consultant. His client's range from small family owned businesses to Fortune 500 companies, across several industries and countries. Larry has provided many services with these clients including; executive coaching, benchmark studies, business assessment, lean enterprise transformation, strategic planning, policy deployment, value-chain mapping and quality improvement. In addition to client work, Larry has conducted seminars with Industry Week, International Institute of Research, Strategic Alliance for Higher Education and the University of Washington. Prior to consulting, Larry held management positions in Engineering, Quality and Operations with both start-up and multi-national manufacturing organizations. While at these organizations, Larry was instrumental in strategic planning, new product development, MRPII implementations, lean manufacturing, Total Quality Management and quality system certifications. Larry has a B.S. in Engineering from the University of Michigan and an M.B.A. from the University of Washington. Larry is a registered professional engineer in the state of Washington. Michael Boyer brings 16 years of business experience in management and consulting working closely with clients and providing the leadership and insight necessary for a comprehensive transition from traditional methods and results to a preferred future with exceptional financial returns. Michael's areas of expertise include Lean Manufacturing, Large System Change, Strategic Alignment, Business Process Re-engineering, Model Line Implementation and Value Chain Management for transition to the Extended Enterprise. Most recently as a consultant, Michael has worked with The Boeing Company, Rockwell International, Hexcel and other clients leading them to successfully implement the Lean Enterprise and other Large System Change projects. Additionally, Michael provided services including Business Assessments, Executive Coaching, Operations Research/Systems Analysis, Value Engineering, and Process Design which have resulted in strategic direction and stability as well as millions of dollars of cost savings and revenue gains for his clients. He has held seminars with Industry Week, AME and National Manufacturing Week providing cutting edge knowledge to the public. Prior to consulting, Michael has held top management positions in engineering, operations, strategic planning, human resources and finance with both large and small firms such as Boeing, Texas Instruments and Electronics Assemblers. His analytical and technical skills, combined with management experience allowed him to bring each these groups to a world-class status. Michael has a B.S. in Industrial Engineering from Louisiana State University and an M.B.A. in Engineering Management from the University of Dallas. Susan Burgess has 27 years experience in consulting, training, curriculum development, business development, counseling, and teaching. Susan is experienced in organization development and change management. Susan is skilled at developing and delivering training programs in management skills, communication, conflict management, and diversity; facilitating groups; and team and executive coaching. She is certified as a Limited Licensed Psychologist and as a Licensed Professional Counselor in Michigan, and was an instructor at Kellogg Community College in the areas of management and supervisor training.
